This is my Story

I came to the United States as an international student and began my career in California as a software engineer. Like many first-time homeowners, I assumed hiring contractors meant the hard decisions were behind me. Instead, buying my first home introduced a level of confusion and frustration I wasn’t prepared for.

During the remodeling process, I struggled to understand recommendations, pricing, and whether proposed solutions actually made sense. That frustration pushed me to start learning, researching, and eventually doing the work myself. What began as DIY quickly grew into a deeper interest in how homes are built, repaired, and maintained.

Over time, I joined the construction industry and became both a licensed General Contractor and a Home Inspector. Working on real projects and inspecting real homes showed me how often homeowners are asked to make major decisions without the knowledge needed to evaluate them confidently.

I believe homeowners deserve to understand their homes before they commit time, money, or trust. Jaspector was created as a place for homeowners—like Jasper once was—to learn how homes really work, ask better questions, and make informed maintenance and construction decisions together.
